Don’t mix up axes with chainsaws although they act quite similar to the axes. Axes are tools that are used to harvest wood and glowing mushrooms. They can also be used to chop Cacti and enemies… That’s right, an axe can be a weapon. Also, if you see a name Legendary *** axe, we guarantee it’s the best possible axe you can get. Making an axe is quite easy. Although you spawn with a copper axe already in your inventory, a better one is a must, since you want to progress faster. You can craft them at Anvils. There is also an item called hamaxe, which is a blend of an axe and a hammer used to carry out both tasks – hammering and chopping down trees.
There are 26 axes you can choose from, but we recommend these, along with their recipes.
- Luminite Axes – 135 Axe Power, 100 Damage (highest), + 4 range, you can’t craft these… Unfortunately.
- The Axe – 175 Axe Power (the highest), 100 Hammer Power, 72 damage and looks like an electric guitar. It can be dropped (2% chance) by Plantera.
- Gold axe – 55 axe power, 7 damage, craft it at an iron or a lead anvil with 9 gold bars and 3 wood pieces.
- Shroomite Digging Claw – 125 axe power, 200 pickaxe power (highest), 45 damage. It is the best for digging and the most expensive out of the lot. It can be crafted at a Mythril or an Orichalcum anvil with 18 Shroomite bars.
