This article contains all available codes for various items, NPCs, and perks presented in Fallout: New Vegas. If you remember about our list for Fallout 3 this guide will be quite understandable so far as we created the same Google Sheet file for New Vegas. There are a few tabs with different categories of items and their codes. The first paragraph of this article provides tips on using the list and finding desired codes. The second paragraph reveals related cheats.
Let’s begin our journey into the world of cheats, codes, and consoles!
Using our list
The very first, our gift for you is the list: https://goo.gl/vCXD3X.
Tap the link boldly and rest a few seconds when the Google Sheet file is loading. You will see various names and codes which are called IDs in the game. However, the list is pretty simple for everyone who used Google Sheets before. You can explore it freely so far as only creators can change values there. Note that the list contains 4 tabs which you can swap at the lower part of the screen.
Here are short descriptions for each tab:
- Equipment: https://goo.gl/vCXD3X. It’s the first screen you will see after activating the link. It offers codes for all available armor pieces, weapons, and ammunition. There are also cut objects.
- Miscellaneous: https://goo.gl/cy74NA. This tab provides IDs of various consumable items and all books and magazines which can boost your skills. There is a column with important items including picklocks, caps and valuable consumables such as stimpaks.
- NPCs: https://goo.gl/cNpNbM. The tab with the only one column which features all non-player characters from the game. Several cut and secret NPCs are also presented.
- Perks and traits: https://goo.gl/kUj2in. We decided to add not only items but all useful features with their own IDs. So, the last tab offers codes for all perks and traits. The latter features provide both benefits and penalties, so activate them wisely.
If you look for only items then check the 1st and 2nd tabs where you will find everything for the comfortable game. The 3rd and 4th tabs may also help you during dangerous adventures, so pay attention to them. Oh, it’s important that our list includes cut and non-released items, NPCs and abilities. You can input their codes without problems but we don’t guarantee that they will work similar to released features.
Now let’s talk about using the list itself. Open the desired tab and find the item or feature you want to give your hero in the game. Each category consists of two separated columns with names of items in the first one and with IDs in the second. Your task now is to copy the code related to your chosen item from the second column or simply remember it. Then switch to Fallout: New Vegas, activate the console and enter a cheat with the copied ID.
The easiest way to find certain item is using the Ctrl + F combination. Press these buttons simultaneously and enter the item’s name or at least specific part of the name in the appeared box. We understand that you cannot remember full names, so it will be enough certain letters or numbers. Try different options and you will find the desired line!
Exact cheats are provided in the next paragraph.
Using related cheats
There are a lot of cheats that works fine for all modern Fallout games. In this article, we will provide only items-related cheats where you should enter their IDs. Firstly, you should open the console using the Tilda key, the one with this sign on your keyboard: «~». Almost all versions of Fallout: New Vegas come with already enabled console options but sometimes you should activate it manually. There are several ways:
- If you have problems with game files. Open the game folder and found the file called Fallout_default.ini or something similar with the .ini extension. Then change a number next to the line bAllowConsole to 1, so it should look like bAllowConsole=1.
- If you have problems with hardware. Go to Control Panel and found Device Manager there. You should disable or simply uninstall the driver which blocks the Tilda key. Look for ENE CIR Receiver or Infrared Transceiver and deactivate it.
Now when your console is working fine let’s reveal useful cheats:
- additem (item code) (amount) (desired condition) – this cheat adds the desired item from the 1st or 2nd tabs of our list. You should enter the ID, a number of items you want to receive and the condition which varies from 0 to 100.
- removeitem (item code) (amount) – this one can remove one of several items from your inventory. Don’t forget to set a number.
- addperk (perk code) – this cheat adds certain perk or trait from the 4th tab.
- removeperk (perk code) – this one works similar to player.removeitem.
- placeatme (item or NPC code) (amount) – the very useful cheat which can spawn any NPC from the 3rd tab near your character. It also works with items.
Hope, it’s clear how and why you can use all cheats. However, the last one is quite unusual. It’s easier to add a certain item into your inventory exactly, so why you have to spawn objects near you? Well, some items such as snow globes count as collected only after direct picking up, so it’s necessary to spawn them near your character. And, of course, you cannot add any NPC to your inventory. Other interesting cheats can remove items and perks, you want to do this to get rid of undeletable quest items or harmful traits.
Have fun and remember about our list: https://goo.gl/vCXD3X!
