Trials Fusion (0)
Overview
Trials Fusion was released on April 16th, 2014 for PC, PS4, Xbox One and Xbox 360. The game is available both as a downloadable version and a retail version. There is a standard edition and a deluxe edition available, which includes the season pass for upcoming DLC tracks and bike parts.
Gameplay
The game uses the tried and true Trials formula: It's possible to control the acceleration and the brakes of the bike, and to make the rider lean forwards or backwards. If done right this can lead, to advanced techniques, e.g. bunny hopping.
The trick system, including a points and combo counter, is a new addition to a series that has focused more on precision and momentum than scoring points.
Tricks are performed by using the right stick to position the rider's legs. The trick system is entirely physics-based, instead of relying on canned animations or set button inputs.
Tricks can be performed on regular tracks, just for fun or to complete track specific challenges, or on specially designed FMX tracks, where the goal is to score as many points as possible.
New to the game is a useable , which can be selected instead of a bike. A bicycle can also be unlocked, as already seen in the previous game. Skill Games also make a return.
The game includes local multiplayer (online multiplayer will be added at a later date through a patch), bike and rider customization, collectibles (in the form of the familiar squirrels) and of course a track editor.
Story
New to the game are small story bits, narrated by a female and a male A.I., called Cindy and George respectively, triggered by hitting certain checkpoints on a track.
The story alludes to other riders, that previously took part in Trials events, to how the Trials riders are perceived by the general public, to the state of the world in general and to genetic experiments, conducted by the makers of the A.I. voices, who apparently try to achieve a fusion of riders and bikes.
