The Siren is the first boss in the Cove that includes three levels: Apprentice, Veteran, and Champion. Like other bosses, the Siren increases stats after raising her level. But all abilities remain the same. The Siren originally was the Ancestor’s fanatic follower. A young country girl followed the antagonist everywhere. He sold the Siren to the monsters from the Cove and a harmless girl turned into a terrible nightmare. Now the Siren is a queen of the Cove as well as a slave of this place.
The Siren isn’t a very difficult boss so you can defeat her easily using our tips.
Features of the boss
The Siren can move twice per round and most likely will cast Song of Desire. This ability allows her to gain control of a certain hero for two rounds. A charmed hero will use all his skills even if you didn’t unlock them. Also, a hero will take 10 stress points each turn. After returning a character will be located at the tail of your formation and also will get a 20% resist for all debuffs. The Siren always chooses a target for her main skill with the lowest resist for debuffs.
Besides her main skill, the Siren has three other abilities:
- High Tide. The boss summons minions from the Cove: a Stinger, a Grouper or twice as probably the Guardian.
- Pressure Cash. The Siren inflicts 10 stress points on all your heroes.
- Devour. The Siren inflicts the first level of bleed on all your heroes.
The boss will use one of these skills at her second turn.
Strategy and advice
It’s not too hard to defeat the Siren. She doesn’t have any lethal skills or abilities with terrible status effects. And you can dodge her Song of Desire although this skill has big ACC. You can simply focus on the boss and damage her every turn to end the battle quickly. However, we suggest a more balanced strategy that will definitely lead you to victory.
First of all, your team must drink Holy Water before the battle. It will increase resists so the Siren cannot cast her Song of Desire. You may use trinkets to increase resists even more. Don’t buff just one hero because he can be charmed and will use these buffs against you. We will focus on slow and systematic strategy. Remember which skills you need:
- Stuns. You should stun charmed heroes and summoned minions so far as they are main damagers of this boss. Take the Bounty Hunter or the Houndmaster to stun foes.
- Self-heals and buffs. Charmed heroes can cast all skills so fill them up with heals and buffs. The Crusader and the Leper can be useful for your team even on the enemy’s side.
- Additional DMG against eldritch. The Siren is eldritch so you will damage her more efficiently. And your team doesn’t include eldritch, yes? Here you can take the Occultist.
- Additional DMG against big foes. This pint is similar to previous one. You can damage the Siren with this bonus and it will not affect your mates. Take the Bounty Hunter.
- Mark skills. Marking requires two and more rounds to give benefit. Summoned minions also don’t have bonus damage against marked foes. So take the Arbalest in addition.
Try to minimize harm from Song of Desire with these hints. Just be sure to stun betrayers and summoned enemies and damage the Siren itself.
We also have some interesting tips and tactics:
- The Crimson Court tactics.
You need to enable this DLC and take the Man-at-Arms. Defeat the Baron and take the Baron’s Lash trinket which adds 75% resist for debuffs being equipped with infected character. Infect the Man-at-Arms and give him this trinket. Guard your character with the lowest resistant. Now the boss will always focus the least protected hero and the Man-at-Arms will always dodge her Song of Desire. Easy!
- The Bounty Hunter tactics.
You need a character with great move abilities such as the Bounty Hunter. Also, you have to take some heroes who are dangerous in certain slots. There could be the Leper or the Arbalest. Then just let the Siren to charm your heroes and move them to the most weal slot. For example, you have the Leper with low resistant and the Bounty Hunter. The Siren will charm the Leper and you have to move him to the fourth slot. He will cause no harm to two rounds!
- The Antiquarian tactics.
Here you have to take the Antiquarian. It’s the most useless hero for combats and she will not help the Siren to defeat your team. The Antiquarian has weak healing abilities and almost no attacking skills. Decrease her resist and give her to the Siren as a Trojan horse!
The best team for the Siren
You can just focus on damaging the boss. You may build a universal team:
- Slot 1. The Crusader. This class deals huge damage to first two slots where the Siren is located. He also can stun a single enemy which is useful for disabling charmed heroes.
- Slot 2. The Hellion. This class is a very good damager. She can inflict bleeding even on fish-men and the Siren. The Hellion also can increase her ACC and DMG.
- Slot 3. The Occultist. This class deals additional damage to eldritch and can decrease the opponent’s DODGE and DMG.
- Slot 4. The Arbalest. This class is valuable because she can raise resists of teammates. The Arbalest also can damage the Siren with good attacking skills.
