Spaceships, or starships as they are known in No man’s sky are the main mean of transportation in the game and are irreplaceable if you don’t have the desire to stay in one planet for the rest of your entire life. Besides being a form of transportation, ships also are a fighting station that you can utilize in space combat. Oh, we almost forgot, they are also like your base, where all the resources are stored and trading goes down.
For now, there are 6 main types of starships in No man’s sky
The types:
Exotic: Like the title suggests, they are like the supercars of space. Great attribute bonuses with boosts to shield power, range of your hyperdrive and damage done to enemies. They can be found in the richer parts of the universe, just like real-life supercars, you won’t find them lying around in a favela or a ghetto. There are 8 Class S Exotic Ships (all of them are class S)
- Bikonanton S53 (best shield boost)
- Furanonoda S78
- Iwamikari S85
- Kabeodit S51 (best damage boost)
- Mikiname S19
- Obihiris S62 (best warp zone boost)
- Paporozawar S60
- Yufushi S71
Explorer: If you’re the type of player that wants to travel furthest and explore more planets, choose the Explorer type. They are different looking and you’re sure to attract attention when flying to the club in this one… Oh right…
There are many Explorer ships, from unknown classes to class A, but we’ll list the one with the highest warp distance bonus.
- Rikawaji S91 – 42 % warp zone boost
Fighter: Looking for a fight in No man’s sky? Pick fighters and feel calm when going in to battle. These are used by pirates and the most evil beings in the universe. They are the most common looking and the one to deal the most damage in is:
- Zunomishi S49 – a 48% damage boost
Freighter: The real life equivalent would be an RV. Expensive, a lot more expensive, in fact, the most expensive ship class in No man’s sky is the freighter class, prices go as high as 410 million units. The huge plus-side is that can do multiple tasks and make your own base of No man’s sky.
The best freighter in our mind is:
- Tashirishid
Hauler: This would be a truck or a family minivan, because these are the biggest ships in the game. They have huge shields and can have enormous sized inventory spaces. You can have 40-48 storage spaces on a large hauler. Can you imagine???
The top hauler:
- Sodegawa S87: 30% shield bonus and 45+7 inventory spots
OR - Hoshikugo S64: 43% shield bonus and 39+6 inventory spots
And the last (but not least) class of spaceships
Shuttle: the ones in the middle with a balanced set of stats. This would be an estate or a saloon car with a solid functionality and decent equipment. They’re great to begin with as they’re cheap to run and maintain or repair.
Best choice? Choose any shuttle you want, they should be used in the beginning of the game. We recommend finding your own set of skills and hopping over to one of the classes of shuttles in the game.
By the way. Buying a new spaceship is very very expensive. You should consider finding a wrecked or damaged spaceship in No man’s sky and repairing it.
