The ending
One of those “walking simulators” Gone Home has a great story with a very interesting ending. After returning to the home you find it empty and go looking for your family, who isn’t here. The story progresses and you catch up with what’s been going on. Your parent’s marriage is in shambles, but they manage to fix it and go on a couple’s retreat in order to reunite. Gone Home focuses mostly on Sam and Katie as Sam is a lesbian and has pictures of her first love – Lonnie. Their parents find out and don’t approve. Lonnie leaves for the army, but leaves to be with the love of her life. The ending isn’t very climactic, but you find out that everything works out just fine and really, with such a short game it’s quite sad that there isn’t much else to talk about.
Conclusions?
There are, however speculations on why the house seemed so empty, yet lived in. The family’s affairs reach a boiling point, they leave, so the house and felt like it was left back in a hurry…
