Arena or the Shanath Arena is a place in Kyrat, the world of Far Cry 4 where Ajay can fight in various battles against a large group of enemies. This arena is run by Pagan Min through his enforcer Noore Najjar who had to take the job in exchange for his family’s safety.
In the arena, players are split in to four colors: red, blue, yellow and green. The catch is… To kill everyone not in your team. Animals are a fifth team that attack all humans, but not eachother.
Built in 1759, Shanath Arena has many traditions, a lot of history and huge competition. You fight and progress through the arena levels. The arena level determines your starting weapon. The battle is divided in to rounds that sees Ajay kill everyone else or get killed. The last round always features Ajay vs a team of infantry or a pack of animals. You (Ajay) gets points in this arena for kills and their showmanship… A regular kill gets you 10 points, thrown knife or stealth on heavy infantry – 50 and etc. Even if you die you add your points to the already gathered ones. For a spectacular kill (25+ points) the spectators can show their acknowledgement of Ajay and drop some useful items to him like a new weapon or a health syringe.
Ajay won’t have access to his free roam gear, only skills, although armor is allowed. Reaching rank 10 in the arena allows Ajay to buy a signature weapon – Bushman.
Three types of arena matches are available in Shanath arena:
Endless mode – rounds are to the infinity, every 10 rounds a special line of enemies test your might. Mode ends when Ajay is killed.
Battle mode – 3-5 rounds, every next round being more difficult than the last. Performance is rated with stars.
Trials mode – 0 rounds, you have to complete the battle with 3+ stars and reach a goal (such as taking down 2 enemies from stealth).
