There are a lot of features and in-game bonuses that come in bottles or in liquid shape. Plasmids are no exception – they are special and exquisite serums made from ADAM that is made from Sea slug. It gives Booker Dewitt super powers, just like vigors. There are two types of plasmids: Active ones that require EVE for use and passive ones – Gene Tonics. That name is very familiar to earlier BioShock players as overuse of these tonics led to the downfall of Rapture. While it only appears in the Burial at Sea expansion and isn’t present in the vanilla version of the game. They are sold as drinkable plasmids. There are 7 of them. Some of which are the same as vigors: Bucking Bronco, Devil’s Kiss, Possession, Shock Jockey. But others are completely new and are worth noting.
Old Man Winter.
When casted you throw a sphere of dry ice, freezing Splicers or turning pipes in to bridges that can be crossed. When charged it places an ice object on the ground and enemies around the area get frozen. Is found in a tear at the skating rink.
Peeping Tom.
Upon casting it acts like an X-Ray vision and allows you to find and locate nearby enemies, but only if you’re standing in one place. When charged you can turn invisible and use stealth to kill your foes. Can be found in Cupid’s arrow.
Ironsides.
Its effect is the creation of a temporary shield that blocks all incoming damage and soaking it all bullets and returning them to you as ammunition. No charging ability is available. Located on the airship “The First Lady”.
