This armored suit with various servomotors offers probably the best protection. It appeared in the first part of the series and survives changes of developers, publishers, and screenwriters. A lot of newcomers want to wear power armor at the very beginning. The moment when players realize that they need the specific perk to use this item is pretty fun. Yes, it sounds awful but you cannot grab the best armor without the certain ability. Obviously, this perk can be obtained near the middle of the game if you don’t want to use cheats. It’s also obvious that you should meet Brotherhood of Steel to learn this perk.
Well, let’s reveal all ways to get Power Armor Training in New Vegas.
Brotherhood line
This way is the most canonical. It requires revealing the location of main Brotherhood base. Go to Hidden Valley right east of your starting location and slightly southeast of Sloan. There you will find several bunkers. However, only one with the intercom is inhabited. You can enter it by breaking the lock with Lockpick skill of 100. Also, paladins will let you inside after getting a task to find Brotherhood during any main storyline. The safest way to enter the bunker is to find several holotapes near dead paladins or have Veronica as your companion.
After meeting Brotherhood, you will receive the first quest related to this faction. Complete it, return to the Elder and complete the next mission. Both McNamara and Hardin will give you their own missions with Power Armor Training as a reward. Don’t forget that you can decide which paladin will be the next Elder. As for us, the quest of McNamara is more interesting and requires less negative actions. Enclave line
There is another way to obtain the ability. If you remember Enclave from the previous game this group also knew about power armor. Despite Enclave is defeated, there are remnants who still keep the knowledge about technologies. So, you should find Arcade Gannon in Old Mormon Fort, the main base of Followers. It’s located in Freeside near New Vegas. Invite Arcade to join your team and get at least 5 positive points. Remember that your mate is a scientist and just lawful man, so act respectively to gain his approval.
If everything is fine Arcade will start his unique storyline. Listen to your friend and complete his quest. Long story short, your goal is to find several Enclave remnants and unite them. After meeting of all NPCs, you will receive the desired perk. Also, remnants will give you their unique power armor which has the best DT among all items of this type. Subjectively, Brotherhood line is a bit simpler so far as Enclave line requires several unobvious actions and pretty long journey together with Arcade.
