So I got Thief game. For any of those who expect it to be anything like the games in Thief series, this is not going to happen. It’s different. And you have to think about it as of a different experience in general.

Thief is a first-person stealth game. And it is an enjoyable experience. The game is not extremely challenging or hard (so if you are looking for any of those, it’s not for you), but it’s really simple to enjoy. Since Thief is a stealth game, that is what you are meant to do. Fighting is possible in the game, and it is one of the ways to complete your missions, but it’s repetitive and boring. You just hit somebody on the head and avoid them hitting you. If it’s a one-on-one fight, you are always going to win. But if you choose a stealthy approach, the game really has something to offer.

You can choose your course and means to be stealthy - distraction, diverting attention, staying in the shadows, putting out lights and so on, at the same time avoiding to draw any attention to your movement - staying clear of broken glass, or dropping something, walking with soft steps and not alerting the pet birds. And it’s the satisfaction you get after robbing someone of their precious possessions and leaving them unaware of what has just happened, that makes the game truly enjoyable.

Thief has an interesting story, as Garrett, the Master Thief, enters the City filled with oppression and sickness. However, some movements against the government are already happening, underground forces set in motion. The City is a dark place and Garrett tries to understand his own story and purpose in all that’s happening around him. So, as I mentioned before the story in Thief is quite interesting, but a little bit hard to follow and confusing at times.

Thief is one dark experience of dark deeds. Not too hard, but still challenging enough to keep it interesting.
