Mulaka is a 3D action-adventure game featuring the lore, myths and legends of the Tarahumara indigenous community from Mexico. The game is being made by Lienzo, an independent game development studio in the city of Chihuahua, Mexico, and is due for release in 2017 for PC and other platforms, although nothing specific has been announced.

Mulaka is the name of the game's protagonist, a young Sukurúame, a skillful member of the community, similar to a chaman in other cultures. According to the Tarahumara lore, the world is created and ended in cycles by the gods to end corruption and foulness and to allow new life to breathe in. It's Mulaka's task to rally the demi-gods and convince them to intercede for humanity to prevent the 4th destruction of the world.

In Mulaka, players will explore a 3D world inspired by some of the most famous landscapes in the Sierra Tarahumara, an extension of the Rocky Mountains that goes into the north of Mexico. Some of these locations include the Copper Canyon, the Desert of Samalayuca, the Basaseachic Falls, and the Town of Paquimé, among others. Creatures from the Tarahumara lore take the role of enemies, including the gigantic Ganoko, the soul-eating Rusíwari, and the fire-spitting Sipabuara.

The gameplay of Mulaka centers around combat and puzzles, drawing inspiration from platforming titles. A key element to the movement of Mulaka is sprinting. The Tarahumara have been called super athletes, super humans, and even The Greatest Race the world has ever seen just because of their running skills. They are frequent winners of marathons all across the world and this is portrayed in the game with a sprinting ability for the main character.

The game is being designed with support from members of the indigenous community, featuring full narration in the Tarahumara language, and with help from historians with expertise on these people.
